Catholic Places Third Overall and Landmark Championships, Relay Teams Take Gold

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Catholic women's track and field team traveled to Huntingdon, Pennsylvania to compete in the second day of the Landmark Conference Championships.

The Catholic 4x100 team earned gold to start the day. Erin Buckley, Kortney Clipper, Ainsley Reisman, and Sarah Schumacher ran a time of 48.06, tying their program best time set at the Penn Relays. 

Mia McConnell, Brigid Byrnes, Zoey Brown, and Mya Sampong also took home the gold in the 4x400. The Cardinals ran a 2026 Division III 42nd best time of 3:55.93. The squad also broke the venue record and set the program's third best time. 

In the finals for the 100m hurdles, Alicia Vo placed fifth with a personal best time of 16.16. Lauryn Pearson finished just behind in sixth with a time of 16.20. Edith Tomasek ran a season best 16.53.

Brown placed sixth in the 400m with her season best time of 1:00.48. Riley Walsh also competed in the event and logged a time of 1:02.23. 

Clipper took home silver in the 100m finals with her time of 12.38, breaking the venue record. Schumacher earned a personal best time of 12.51 in fifth place. The senior now has the program's third best time.  

Clipper also took home the silver medal in the 200m finals with a time of 25.39. Schumacher placed sixth with her time of 25.84. Buckley ran a time of 26.37.

In the 800m, Sampong placed third with her personal best time of 2:17.35. This is the program's fifth best time. Alexa Grassi placed seventh, logging two points for the team, with her time of 2:25.98. Erin Roche ran a personal best, 2:27.98. Kate Hannan chalked up 2:32.46. Sara Roberts rounded out the Cardinal crew with a personal best time of 2:35.52. 

The Cardinals had a great showing in the 400m hurdles with four athletes earning points. Earning silver, McConnell ran a season best and venue record breaking time of 1:03.52. Byrnes collected bronze with her time of 1:03.58, also breaking the venue record. Vo placed fifth with her personal best time of 1:06.26. Placing seventh, Kiera Webster ran a personal best 1:08.71. Rachel Sprauer also ran a personal best, 1:09.69. Corina Colmenares Bittar capped off the group with her personal best time of 1:12.87. 

In the 5000m, Olivia Sobkowicz took home the bronze with her time of 17:51.44. Laurel McMahon placed fourth, earning points for Catholic, with her time of 18:03.54. Bridgid Cavanaugh ran 19:00.65, placing tenth.

Maggie McNulty threw a personal best in the javelin, placing sixth. Her distance of 33.83m is the program's third best distance. Kaelyn Boodlal threw 22.53m. 

Kate Quashne reached a personal best distance in the triple jump, placing seventh with a distance of 10.40m. Tomasek placed eighth with a season best 10.27m. Alyssa Oscar reached a season best distance of 9.93m. 

Pearson placed fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.48m. Tomasek reached 1.43m, Pauline Kennedy jumped 1.33m, and Kate Quashne also reached 1.33m.

In the discus, Bethany Riddle threw a personal best distance of 30.82m, placing tenth. 

Catholic finished third in the Landmark Championships with 125 points. Scranton took the top spot with 196 and Moravian placed second with 169.5.

Up next, the Cardinals will compete at the Widener Final Qualifier on Monday, May 11th in Chester, Pennsylvania.
