Cardinals Compete with Two V8+ Boats in MARC Championships

CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The men's rowing team traveled to Cherry Hill, New Jersey to compete in the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference Championships on the Cooper River. 

In the Varsity 8+ prelims, the Cardinals recorded a time of 06:34.562 and a fifth place finish. Caleb Gascoyne served as the coxswain in the boat, with Jack Koubek in the stroke and Sean Farrelly in the bow. Other members of the crew were Thomas Robertson (7), Jonah Stofko (6), Alan Nicholas (5), Franklin Hudak (4), Jeffery Cone (3), and Luis Piñero-Koyama (2). In the finals, the Cardinals placed third with a time of 06:37.775.

The 2nd Varsity 8+ boat consisted of Matthew Blomgren as the coxswain, Adam Cagno as the stroke, and Owen Spelman as the bow. Other team members were Peter Huber (7), Bryce Wnek (6), Cameron McKay (5), Adam Driscoll (4), Daniel Robertson (3), and James Pickell (2). In the finals, the boat recorded a time of 07:17.406, a just behind their prelim time of 07:16.960.

The Cardinals placed seventh out of ten teams with 41 points. 

The final regatta of the Cardinal's season is scheduled for Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th in Pennsauken, New Jersey at the Dad Vail Championships.
