| By:
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.  – Michael Brunet will compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships that will take place in Lacrosse, Wisconsin from May 21-23. Brunet becomes the third freshman in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Brunet will compete in the 1500m in the prelims at 4:50 pm on May 21 with the finals taking place on May 23. He will be the first Cardinal to compete in the 1500m at NCAAs since 1991 when Tom Caffrey competed and won the national championship in the event. Brunet will become one of three athletes to ever compete in the 1500 at the NCAA Championships in program history.

To earn his qualification, Brunet ran a time of 3:48.89 at the Widener Final Qualifier this past Monday, to be one of 22 qualifiers in the 1500. His time at the event was the second-best in program history and set a Landmark record. It is now the fourth consecutive year that a Catholic athlete will compete at the outdoor championships.
