Men's Track and Field Picked Third in Outdoor Championship Preview Poll

TOWSON, Md. – The Catholic men's track and field team has been picked third in the 2026 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship poll, it was announced today. The Cardinals received 35 points in the poll, and will head to Huntingdon, Pa. on Saturday to fight for the conference title.

Susquehanna received 48 points with six First-Place Votes, while Moravian tallied 43 points with 2 First-Place Votes. The River Hawks are the reigning champions six years running. 

Michael Brunet will be a force to reckon with in the 5000m and 1500m. Brunet boasts Rookie of the Year honors in both the 2025 cross country season and 2026 indoor championships and is on the watchlist for this year's honors. 

With the return of the 2024 NCAA pole vault national champion, Christian Di Nicolantonio in the Cardinals arsenal, Catholic looks to capture the title in the event. His best height this season was 4.87m, which he recorded at the Penn Relays in the Championship Division.

Freshman Drew Madden has been having a stellar debut season. He will be an athlete to watch in the 110mH, where he recorded a personal best time of 16.07 at the Susquehanna Multis. At that same meet, he competed in his first career Decathlon, placing second in the high jump at 1.89m, and breaking the program record with 5,880 points.

At the Bison Classic, sophomore Mark Enamorado recorded a personal best in the discus with a distance of 36.20m. He is also a player to watch in the hammer throw after recording a best 41.17m at the Carpenter-Case Invite.

In both the long and triple jump, Adrian Villatoro hopes to repeat last year's championship performance. At the 2025 championship, the sophomore recorded the program's seventh best distance of 6.57m in the long jump. At the Morgan State Legacy Meet, he logged a new personal best distance of 6.59m in the long jump. 

Max Lindung leads the throwers with a successful season in the javelin, reaching a new personal best distance 50.54m with a first place finish at the Seahawk Invitational. As a freshman, Lindung finished sixth with a personal best throw of 48.35m in the javelin at the 2025 Landmark Outdoor Championships. 

The Cardinals 4x400 relay team of Emmanuel Olarewaju, Sean Owens, Kendrick DuPree, and Peter Winter ran a 3:20.42 at the Legacy Meet, the program's tenth best time and will be looking to produce another program best this weekend. 

Steve Rahn will lead the Cardinals in his eighth season as head coach as the Cardinals hunt for their first outdoor title. Rahn has sent 11 athletes to the NCAA Outdoor Championships during his time at the helm.

The 2026 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championship is set for Saturday, May 2nd and Sunday, May 3rd. Events are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
