Catholic Concludes Regular Season at F&M Spring Invitational

LITITZ, Pa.  – The Catholic men's golf team concluded its regular season by participating in the F&M Spring Invitational on Sunday and Monday. After shooting a team score of 342 in the opening round, the Cardinals shaved 31 strokes off their score in the second round on Monday to jump up five spots to 10th in the final standings.

The best overall finish for the Cardinals came from Timothy Cleary as he had the best round for any player with a 75 in round two to finish in a tie for 16th place. Cleary notched four pars and two birdies over a six-hole stretch at the turn and had nine pars and three birdies overall on Monday.

Matthew Begg was next on the leader board for Catholic as he took seven strokes off his first round score with a 76 to finish in a tie for 26th in the standings. Begg parred each hole from 11 to 15 and threw in a birdie as well, finishing the round with nine pars and two birdies overall. Liam Bohm also came in under 80 during his round, shooting a 79 with three birdies to tie for the most on the team throughout the round.

The other two Cardinals to compete were Timothy Doheny and Joe Earley, both who finished with a better round two score, shooting an 81 and 83 respectively.

On the Catholic 'B' team, Jeremiah Brown put together two solid rounds with a 75 and 78 to finish in 11th place. During his second round, he had a streak of five consecutive pars and also added two birdies to his round. Matthew Dietl also finished in a tie for 16th, shooting the best round two score on the 'B' team with a 76. 

The Cardinals next match will be the Landmark Conference Championship, starting on Saturday, April 25 at the Shawnee Golf Course.
