Cardinals Post Personal Bests All Day at Morgan State's Legacy Meet

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Catholic men's track and field team returned to Morgan State to compete in the second and final day of the Legacy Meet. 

The Cardinals opened the day with the 400m hurdles. Emmanuel Olarewaju posted a result of 57.16. Gabe Devaney finished just behind with his time of 57.83. Josh Phillips performed a season best, 1:00.87. 

With a season best, David Stango posted a time of 4:10.29 in the 1500m. Joshua Leon also logged a season best with 4:24.44. 

Malachi McIver ran a season best in the 100m prelims with his time of 11.45. Brandon Hancock recorded a season best 12.21. 

In the 110m hurdles prelims, Drew Madden raced 16.18. Devaney ran a personal best 16.83. Phillips posted a time of 17.44. 

Sean Owens competed a personal best in the 400m with a time of 50.79. Romell Randolph also earned a personal best, 51.19. Colin Matthews competed with a time of 51.91. Gabe Stypul ran 52.62, a season best.

Kendrick DuPree came away with an outdoor personal best time of 1:53.96 in the 800m. He remains ninth in the program record books with his new time. Michael Brunet also ran a personal best in the event with his time of 1:57.01. 

In the 200, Matthews ran a time of 23.19. McIver ran a personal best 23.72. 

Daniel Ponciano raced a personal best time of 16:22.70 in the 5000m. 

The 4x400m relay team rounded out the track events for the day with a season best time of 3:20.42. This places them with the current 48th best time in Division III and the program tenth best time. The squad consisted of Olarewaju, Owens, DuPree, and Peter Winter

On the field side of the day, the Cardinals had a great showing with many bests. 

In discus, Mark Enamorado recorded a throw of 34.60m. Sean Eiffe logged 32.18m. Caden Lopez and Ethan Carmichael finished back-to-back with throws of 28.99m and 28.77m, respectively. 

Adrian Villatoro reached a personal best distance of 6.59m in the long jump, the program seventh best distance. Brandon Hancock jumped 5.97m, a season best. Nicholas Chang posted a distance of 5.45m. 

Eiffe threw a personal best distance of 12.71m in the shot put. Benjamin Warr also recorded a personal best with 11.25m. Warren Gillis threw 10.89m. Carmichael reached 10.45m. 

Christian Di Nicolantonio made his Catholic return with a height of 4.62m in the pole vault, the current DIII 50th best height. 

Chang closed out the day for the Cardinals with a distance of 12.64m in the triple jump. 

 Up next, the Cardinals will travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the Penn Relays on Thursday, April 23rd.
