Cleary Leads Catholic at Stevenson Spring Invitational

UPPERCO, Md.  – The Catholic men's golf team competed at the Stevenson Spring Invitational on Thursday afternoon and  came away with a finish in a tie for seventh place out of 19 teams, shooting a 320 as a team.

Timothy Cleary had the best finish for the Cardinals overall, shooting a 75 to finish in a tie for fifth on the leaderboard. Cleary had a streak on the front nine with three pars and a birdie over five holes and finished with nine pars and two birdies total during his round.

Catholic's next best finisher was Matthew Begg who finished with a score of 80 to come in a tie for 27th in the field. In total, Begg tallied up a birdie to go along with his eight pars throughout his round. Joe Earley came just two strokes behind him with an 82 as he parred five out of six holes on the back nine for the Cardinals. Timothy Doheny shot an 83 with two birdies and three pars during his round. 

On the Catholic 'B' team, both Liam Bohm and Jeremiah Brown had the best finishes as they both shot a 77 to finish at +7. Brown had the most birdies out of any Cardinal on the day with three birdies and Bohm finished his round with two birdies and eight pars. 

The Cardinals return to the course on Sunday, April 19 when they compete at the Franklin and Marshall Spring Invitational at the Bent Creek Country Club.
