Pearson Logs Program Second Best in Heptathlon at Susquehanna Multis

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Catholic women's track and field team returned over to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania to compete in the Susquehanna Multis. 

In the long jump, Lauryn Pearson reached 4.92m. This places her into the record books with the eighth-best distance. This is also her outdoor personal best. 

In javelin, the freshman threw 15.89m in her first time in the event at the collegiate level. In the 800m, Pearson ran a personal best 2:38.80.

Overall, Pearson earned 3,855 points in the heptathlon and the program's second best record. Additionally, the freshman is the new sixth best performer in the heptathlon in the Landmark Conference record books. 

In the long jump both Kate Quashne and Pauline Kennedy earned personal bests. Quashne reached 5.01m. Kennedy reached 4.50m.

Kennedy threw a personal best 19.98m in the javelin, while Quashne reached 14.45m. 

In the 800m, Kennedy logged 2:42.30 and Quashne ran 2:56.17.

Pauline Kennedy earned a total of 3,202 points, the program fourth best and Landmark 10th best. Kate Quashne chalked up a total of 2,731 points, the program sixth best.

The Cardinals will travel to two separate meets this upcoming weekend. On Saturday, April 11th, Catholic will compete at the Bison Classic in Washington, D.C. On Saturday, April 11th and Sunday, April 12th Cardinals will compete in the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisberg, Pennsylvania.
