Madden Sets Catholic Program Record in Decathlon at Susquehanna Multis

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Catholic men's track and field team returned to Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania to compete in the second day Susquehanna Multis. 

Drew Madden started the day with the 110m hurdles with a personal best time of 16.07. This is the program's seventh best time.

In the discus, the freshman threw 33.76m. Madden reached 3.30m in the pole vault. 

In javelin, Madden threw a distance of 34.65m. 

The 1500m was the last event of the day. The freshman ran a 5:11.42 in the event. 

In his first ever decathlon, Drew Madden earned 5,880 points and cemented himself into the record books with the program best score. Additionally, this score places the freshman into the Landmark Conference books with the eighth best record. 

The Cardinals will travel to two separate meets this upcoming weekend. On Saturday, April 11th, Catholic will compete at the Bison Classic in Washington, D.C. On Saturday, April 11th and Sunday, April 12th Cardinals will compete in the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisberg, Pennsylvania.
