SALISBURY, Md. - The Catholic men's tennis team hit the road for a non-conference match up against Salisbury. The Cardinals fell in the meeting against the Seagulls, 6-1.
In doubles, Catholic battled hard against Salisbury across all three matches.
Jake Hershey and
Flynn Hollinger secured the win in the three spot, defeating their opponent 6-4.
James Earwood and
Diego Romo battled in the one spot, falling to their Seagull competitors 6-4. In the two spot,
Ian Arenas and
Lorenzo Neri forced a tiebreak, but dropped the match, 7-6 (7-1).
The Cardinals fought tough matches in singles. Arenas secured a point for Catholic in the six spot, taking on Chase Catullo, and defeating him in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. Hollinger battled against Aron Bursztyn, forcing a close contest in set one. He was unable to overcome Bursztyn, falling, 6-3, 6-3. Salisbury secured the win, defeating Catholic 6-1.
Up next, Catholic will host Lycoming for their senior day celebration. The match is scheduled for Saturday, April 11 at 1 p.m. at the Dowd Family Tennis Courts.
