Nemoy Earns First Career Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. - Annie Nemoy of the Catholic women's tennis team was named Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week, it was announced today. This is Nemoy's first career honor, and she is the second member of the squad to earn the recognition in the 2025-26 season.

The freshman Baltimore, Md. native went 4-0 on the week, helping guide Catholic to victories in two Landmark matches. Nemoy joins teammate Ava Niggemeier who was named Athlete of the Week in the fall.

In the first match of the week against Goucher, Nemoy partnered with Shloka Tambat in the one doubles spot, defeating their Gopher opponents 6-4. Later on the Dowd Family Tennis Courts, Nemoy faced off against Lucy Ingraham in the two singles spot, defeating her in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. The Cardinals won, 6-1 over Goucher.

In match two of the week, Catholic faced off against Juniata where Nemoy once again partnered with Tambat in the one doubles spot. The pair took down the Eagles, 6-2, contributing a win to the doubles sweep. Nemoy then competed against Celia Navarro de Torres in the two singles spot, where she once again won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3. Catholic ultimately defeated the Eagles, 5-2 in the meeting.

The Cardinals are currently 7-8 overall and 4-0 in Landmark play. Up next, Catholic will host Lycoming for another conference match on Saturday, April 11. The meeting is set for 1 p.m.
