Cardinals Record Bests at Seahawk Invitational

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Catholic women's track and field team traveled up St. Mary's College (Md.) to compete in the Seahawk Invitational.

The Cardinals started off the day with the 4x100m relay. Erin Buckley, Kortney Clipper, Sarah Schumacher, and Ainsley Reisman recorded a time of 50.59. 

Isabel Doran placed third in the 1500m with a time of 5:44.65. Margaret Glenn also raced in the event and posted a time of 6:04.25.  

All seven Cardinals qualified for the 100m finals, with Buckley taking first place with a season best 13.07. Clipper placed second with a time of 13.18. Reisman logged 13.39 and Felicity Giampietro followed with 13.97. Erin Driscoll raced 14.76. Emily McDermond competed her season best, 14.83. Catalina Zumbado rounded out the event with her personal best time of 14.95.

Mya Sampong placed fourth in the 400m with her personal best 1:01.33. Zoey Brown and Riley Walsh finished sixth and seventh with their times of 1:02.92 and 1:03.34, respectively. Alexa Grassi logged 1:03.67.

In the 100m hurdles, Corina Colmenares Bittar chalked up a season best 17.94. Alicia Vo also recorded 17.94. Chloe Dodd raced a time of 18.60. Pauline Kennedy logged a personal best with 19.20. Kate Quashne rounded out the Cardinals with a time of 21.61.

Kate Hannan was the lone Cardinal to compete in the 800m. The freshman recorded a time of 2:39.14. 

Brigid Byrnes took first place in the 400m hurdles with her time of 1:05.18. In third, Mia McConnell recorded 1:06.67. Colmenares Bittar logged a personal best time of 1:16.80. Vo finished in 1:18.64. 

A handful of athletes represented Catholic in the 200m. Brown raced 27.60. Reisman logged a time of 27.76, her season best. Schumacher and Giampietro finished back to back with times of 27.89 and 28.09, respectively. Clipper raced a time of 28.37. Walsh (29.34), Quashne (30.11, personal best), Kennedy (30.27), and Zumbado (30.69, personal best) finished consecutively. McDermond finished with a time of 31.35 in the 200m.

In the 5000m, Bridgid Cavanaugh posted a time of 18:54.63. Erin Roche completed the race with a time of 19:29.81. Sara Roberts raced a time of 20:20.74. 

In the field events, Maggie McNulty threw 37.26m in the hammer throw. Bethany Riddle reached 29.41m in the event. Caroline Welsh reached 25.09m with her throws. 

In the high jump, Kennedy reached 1.30m and Quashne reached 1.25m. 

In the long jump, Edith Tomasek jumped a distance of 4.58m. Alyssa Oscar recorded a season best distance of 4.48m. Vo reached 4.33m. Driscoll posted a distance of 4.14m. 

McNulty threw 31.16m in javelin. Kaelyn Boodlal threw a distance of 17.72m in the event. Kennedy reached 17.50m.

Welsh threw a season best 10.75m with a second place finish in shot put. Kennedy threw 9.14m. Boodlal posted a season best 8.68m throw. Riddle threw 8.51m in the event.

Dodd posted a season best equivalent (2.90m) in the pole vault. 

In discus, Riddle logged a third place finish and season best 27.92m. McNulty chalked up a personal best distance of 26.95m. 

Up next, the Cardinals will compete at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational hosted by George Mason. The first day of the meet is scheduled for noon on Friday, April 3rd.
