Catholic Kicks Off Outdoor Season at Fred Hardy Invitational

RICHMOND, Va. – The Catholic men's track and field team kicked off the outdoor season at the Fred Hardy Invitational with two field events.

Three Cardinals competed in the shot put. James Varellas and Warren Gillis finished back-to-back with 11.47m and 10.92m, respectively. Ethan Carmichael reached a distance of 10.60m with his personal best throw. 

In the hammer throw, Caden Lopez logged a distance of 36.45m and now sits as the seventh best in program history. Benjamin Warr threw 33.57m in the event. Mark Enamorado rounded out the group with 32.83m. 

The Cardinals will be back at the Fred Hardy Invitational on Friday, March 20th. Day two of the meet will begin at 10 a.m. at E. Claiborne Robins Stadium.
