BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Catholic women's track and field team traveled to Blacksburg, Virginia to compete in the Doc Hale Invite, hosted by Virginia Tech.
Olivia Sobkowicz competed in the mile and earned a new personal best time of 5:13.98. With this, the freshman enters the Catholic record books as the eighth best time in the event.
Both
Mia McConnell and
Zoey Brown competed in the 400m. McConnell moved up the ranks in the Catholic record book from tenth to fourth with her personal best time of 1:00.08. Brown raced a time of 1:04.43.
In the 3000 meter, junior
Laurel McMahon competed with a time of 10:38.48.
Up next, the women's track and field team will be competing in the second day of the Doc Hale Invite at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 7th. The team will also be competing in the Blue and White invite, starting at 9:30 AM, hosted by Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
