TOWSON, Md. - The Catholic men's track and field team has been picked third in the 2026 Landmark Conference Indoor Championship poll, it was announced today. The Cardinals received 36 points in the poll, and will head to Selinsgrove, Pa. on Saturday to fight for the conference title.
Moravian and Susquehanna were tied for first place in the poll, each receiving 46 points and four first-place votes. The River Hawks captured the conference title at the 2025 Indoor Championship, bringing in 201 points, while the Greyhounds took second with 150 points at the meet.
Catholic finished in fourth last season, and look to bring their 2025-26 success into the meet this weekend.
In sprints events,
Calvin Hernandez currently leads the league in the 60m, recording a time of 6.95 at the 2025 Marlins First Chance meet in December.
Romell Randolph has solidified his spot on the Landmark's list of top sprinters in the 200m, where he currently has a time 22.36.
Sean Owens will also compete for the Cardinals in the 400m event.
In middle distance and distance events,
Kendrick DuPree highlights the Cardinals squad with the top time in the 800m. DuPree clocked a time of 1:53.80 at the Marlins First Chance meet.
Michael Brunet sits in the Landmark top-five performances list twice this season, recording a third-best in the Mile with a time of 4:18.17, and a fifth-best time in the 3000m at 8:42.79.
Joseph Locke is also a key athlete to watch at this year's championship, where he will take on his conference opponents in the 5000m.
Freshman
Drew Madden has made his mark in both track and field events this season. Madden recorded a top-five time of 8.66 in the 60mH at the 2025 Marlins First Chance and had a mark of 1.90m in the High Jump at the George Mason 2026 Father Diamond, tying him for second in the conference. He secured a spot in the Catholic record books in the Heptathlon, recording 4187 points at the Doc Hale Invitational. Madden will also be competing in the Shot Put events in Selinsgrove this weekend.
Adrian Villatoro has recorded two Landmark top-ten marks this season, with a 6.40m mark in the Long Jump at the Coach I Invite and a 12.17m mark in the Triple Jump at Marlins First Chance. Other field athletes to watch for the Cardinals include
Gabe Stypul in Pole Vault and
Benjamin Warr in Weight Throw.
The 2026 Landmark Conference Indoor Championship is set for Saturday, Feb. 28. Events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
