Reisman, Sampong, Sprauer, and Kennedy Earn Bests at Father Diamond and Enter Catholic Record Books

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Catholic women's track and field team competed in the Father Diamond Invitational hosted by George Mason.

Three Cardinals advanced to the 60 meter semifinals: Ainsley Reisman, Felicity Giampietro, and Catalina Zumbado. Reisman finished in fourth in the finals with a personal best time of 8.28. This places her as the eighth best in the event in program history. Giampietro finished with a season best 8.46 and Zumbado finished just behind with a personal best 9.12.

Sara Roberts was the lone Cardinal to compete in the mile. The freshman ran 6:00.45, a personal best. 

In the 60 meter hurdles Rachel Sprauer logged a personal best with 10.23. This time earns her a position in the program record books as the 10th best time. Corina Colmenares Bittar also competed with a season best time of 10.66 in the event.

Sprauer also competed in the 400 meter with teammate Riley Walsh. Sprauer ran a season best time of 1:04.21. Walsh finished ahead of her teammate, tallying a time of 1:03.23.

Mya Sampong finished fourth in the 800 meter with a time of 2:22.17, a personal best. Alexa Grassi also ran in the event and chalked up a time of 2:35.18. Sampong's time puts her sixth overall in the record books. 

In the 200 meter, five Cardinals took to the track. Giampietro led the Catholic pack with a season best 27.67. Reisman ran 28.16. Walsh and Zumbado both earned personal bests, running 28.59 and 30.70, respectively. Emily McDermond rounded out the crew with her time of 31.16. 

Isabel Doran and Garet Glenn represented Catholic in the 3000 meter run. Doran logged 12:14.21 and Glenn ran a personal best 13:01.29. 

In the long jump, Kate Quashne finished first with a distance of 4.78m. Erin Driscoll posted a distance of 4.43m, a season best. Alyssa Oscar reached 4.26m. Oscar also competed in the triple jump with a distance of 8.78m. 

Pauline Kennedy reached a height of 1.35m in the high jump. The freshman also earned a personal record in the shot put, posting a distance of 10.56m. This distance places her as the eighth best in the event in program history.

Bethany Riddle also earned a personal best distance of 9.50m in the shot put. Additionally, Riddle reached 11.22m in the weight throw. Kaelyn Boodlal threw 8.95m in the shot put.

This meet was the last tune up before the Cardinals compete at the Landmark Conference Indoor Track & Field next weekend. The meet will take place on Saturday, February 28th on the campus of Susquehanna University. The meet is slated to start at 11 a.m..
