WILMINGTON, Del. – The Catholic women's rowing team has been ranked as the preseason No. 14 by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association, it was announced today.
The Cardinals had an impressive fall season, winning the Championship Eights at the Head of the Schuylkill on October 25th, 2025.Â
Last spring, the Cardinals took home the gold at the prestigious Grand Final at the Dad Vail to cap off their season. With seniors
Anne Mountcastle,
Ellie Tynan,
Katherine Elizabeth Ma, and
Claudia Hindley making their return, Catholic is looking forward to an exciting season. Mountcastle was recently named to the CRCA 2026 Athletes to Watch list and will serve as team captain for the Cardinals this spring.
Other key returners are junior
Charlotte Fritz who sat in the second position during the Dad Vail championships last spring and sophomore
Sadie Mattaliano who served as the coxswain during their fall Head of the Schuylkill championship ride. Â
The Cardinals will open the season at the Washington College Invite on Saturday, March 21st. The race will take place at the Hodson Boathouse in Chestertown, Maryland.
