Women’s Lacrosse Picked Second in Landmark Preseason Poll

TOWSON, Md. - The Catholic women's lacrosse team has been selected second in the 2026 Landmark Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, it was announced today. The Cardinals received 73 points in the poll, including two first-place votes.

Scranton topped the poll with eight first-place votes and 81 points. The Royals defeated the Cardinals 16-6 in the 2025 Championship to capture their third consecutive Landmark title.

Catholic is well positioned for championship contention under head coach Meghan McDonogh, who enters her 20th season at the helm of the program. Last season, McDonogh led the Cardinals to a 10-9 overall record and an 8-1 record in conference play.

Henley Bredemann, Izzy Fiore, and Lindsay Sawyer all return on the Cardinals attack. Bredemann was named Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Conference in 2025. The sophomore from Daniel Island, S.C. led the team with 40 goals in her 2025 campaign. Bredemann also picked up six assists for a total of 46 points.

Fiore followed close behind with 39 goals and 12 assists to earn a spot on the Second Team All-Conference in 2025. She also tallied 17 caused turnovers and 26 ground balls. Sawyer totaled 25 goals in her 2025 season, the third-most on the team. 

Tori Wilsey returns in the midfield for the Cardinals after a standout 2025 season. The Stratford, N.J. native recorded 22 goals and 10 assists in her junior season. On the defensive end, Wilsey tallied 32 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers.

Catholic will open their season on Saturday, February 14 at 1 p.m. They will take on Salisbury at Carlini Field.
