HAMPSTEAD, Md.  – The Catholic women's golf team entered the week with a two-round meet at the Mid-Atlantic Classic, hosted by Stevenson. The Cardinals finished in third place out of an eight team field after having two similar rounds with team scores of 340 and 342. 

Gabi Courtney had the best two-day stretch for the program as she opened the tournament by shooting an 86. Over her first round, she recorded six pars with four of the coming on the front nine, including back-to-back on holes five and six. Courtney improved by seven strokes during the second round where she had a stretch of five consecutive pars and also added a birdie on the par five at hole 10. In total, she tallied 10 pars during her round to finish in seventh place out of the 43 players.

The other Cardinal to finish in the top 10 was Aleysha Ramos as she opened up the tournament by shooting an 88 where she notched a birdie on the 10th hole and added four pars. She followed up by shooting an 82 in the second round where she ripped off eight straight pars from holes 11-18 to help her finish in 10th place in the field. Meghan Mullen finished the tournament having played the best individual round on the team, shooting a 78 in her first round where she picked up a birdie on 10th and 17th holes while also recording pars on holes one through five. She followed up by shooting a 95 in the second round with a birdie on the fifth hole to finish in 13th place in the field.

The last two Cardinals to compete for the team scoring were Harper Capilli and Ellery Talbot. Capilli shot an 88 in both rounds to finish in 16th place while Talbot shot a 91 and 93 to place in 22nd.

Three other Catholic players also competed independently and came away with the following results:

Mary McGuire - 10th (86, 84)
Ciara McLaughlin - 20th (92, 89)
Sydney Colen - 26th (93, 94)

The Cardinals are back in action on Tuesday, October 20 for the Alvernia Fall Invitational at LedgeRock Golf Club.
