FAIRFAX, Va. – The Catholic women's track and field team competed on the second day of the Patriot Games, hosted by George Mason.
The Cardinals started the day with the 60 meter semis.
Corina Colmenares Bittar captured her season best time of 10.76 in the event.
Mia McConnell was the quickest Cardinal finisher with a time of 9.92.
Rachel Sprauer raced a 10.48.
In the mile,
Bridgid Cavanaugh earned a personal best of 5:20.55.
Erin Roche also ran a personal best time of 5:38.28.
McConnell placed eighth in the 400 meter with a time of 1:01.14.
Zoey Brown finished 14th with a time of 1:03.39.
Riley Walsh earned a personal best with her time of 1:04.04. Sprauer also earned a season best with 1:04.85.
In the 800 meter,
Mya Sampong earned her personal best in the event. The freshman raced a 2:27.82.
Kate Hannan competed a season best of 2:38.49.
Sarah Schumacher competed in the 200 meter and totaled 27.68, while teammate
Ainsley Reisman was close behind with 28.08.
Sara Roberts and
Isabel Doran both raced the 3000 meter and finished back-to-back. Roberts ran a 12:31.04 and Doran followed with 12:38.05.
The 4x400 relay team of
Rachel Sprauer,
Mia McConnell,
Zoey Brown, and
Riley Walsh finished fourth, only behind three Division I teams. This squad earned their season best time of 4:11.82. With this time, the group now holds the 76th best Division III time in the event.
Kate Quashne jumped a distance of 4.83 meters and
Alyssa Oscar reached 4.12 meters in the long jump.
Caroline Welsh threw 10.78 meters in the shot put, earning fifth place overall.
Maggie McNulty threw 9.28 meters and
Kaelyn Boodlal threw 8.35 meters.
In the weight throw, McNulty placed fifth with a 12.35 meter throw.
Bethany Riddle threw 10.35 meters.
Up next, the Cardinals will compete at the Blue & White Invite hosted by Franklin and Marshall. The meet will start at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 7th.
