WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Catholic women's swimming and diving team hosted Salisbury on the Saturday afternoon for a senior day celebration. The Cardinals fell to the Seagulls in the meet, 198-62.
Prior to the start of Saturday's meet, the Cardinals honored six seniors who have dedicated their time and skills to Catholic both in and out of the pool:
Emily Albans,
Emily Blaskovich,
Bella Mugno,
Olivia Palubinski,
Kaitlin Patt, and
Maura Sadowski.
Tara Wiarda continued her standout season, picking up the first-place finish in both the 100 Backstroke and the 200 Backstroke. She clocked a time of 58.18 in the 100 to take the gold, and finished with a time of 2:09.87 in the 200.
Logan Shields had a podium finish in the 100 Backstroke, finishing third with a time of 1:02.81. Mugno also took home a bronze in the 100 Breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:07.10.
Blaskovich topped her senior day with a podium finish, picking up third in the 50 Freestyle, finishing within milliseconds of her opponents at 25.19.
Anna Dymek also notched a top-three finish in the 100 Butterfly, taking second with a time of 57.46.
The women closed out the meet with a second-place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The team of Wiarda,

Delainey Brandt took the silver with a time of 3:41.50
The Cardinals will return to the pool on Saturday, January 31 at Howard. The meet is set to begin at 1 p.m.
