BERKELEY SPRINGS, W. Va. — The Catholic women's golf team started out the 2025 fall at the Shenandoah Invitational at Cacapon Golf Club on Saturday. The Cardinals sit in ninth place heading into day two after shooting 335 as a team.
Brooke Smith stood out for the Cardinals as she sits in fourth place in the field after shooting a 76 in her round on the first day. She shot an even par on the back nine, 36, and poured in two birdies and five pars as is just two shots shy of second place going into tomorrow.
Gabi Courtney finished just outside the top 20 after shooting an 83 on the day. She remained consistent throughout her round finishing with a 42 on the front nine and 41 on the back. She parred five of her last six holes and reached 10 pars in the entire round.
Lauren Wright and
Mary McGuire also competed on the Cardinals 'A' team and shot an 87 and 89 respectively. Wright picked up two birdies in her round on the front nine and McGuire had six pars in total.
Freshman
Meghan Mullen had the best result on the afternoon for the Cardinals 'B' team finishing in 31st with a 85 in her first collegiate round. She finished with two pars on the front nine and started out the back nine on fire with three pars and a birdie on the first four holes. She also parred three of the last four holes to finish with a 38 on the back nine.
The Cardinals will conclude the weekend at the Shenandoah Invitational tomorrow, September 6.
