Cardinals Come in Fourth at Stevenson Fall Invitational

STEVENSON, Md.  — The Catholic men's golf team played in the Stevenson Fall Invitational on Monday afternoon. The Cardinals came away with a fourth place finish out of 13 teams, shooting a 314 (+30) as a team.

After shooting a 77 (+6) in his round, Timothy Doheny finished the highest in the field on the team, tying for eighth place. Doheny started the round off with three straight pars, before wrapping up the front nine with a birdie. He went on a four hole stretch on the back nine with three pars and a birdie and had 11 pars in total in his round.

Joe Earley, Emmet Kilmartin and Matthew Begg all finished in a tie for 12th place as they each shot a 78 in their rounds to finish in the top 15. Earley finished strong with a 36 (+1) on the back nine, including a birdie and four pars on his last five holes. Kilmartin also shot a 36 on the back nine where he totaled three birdies and three pars. Begg had a streak of nine consecutive pars at one point during his round, including seven straight pars to start off the back nine. 

Liam Bohm was the final Cardinal to break 80 in the round while playing on the Catholic 'B' team, shooting a 79 (+8) to finish tied for 20th. Bohm had nine pars during his round and also added a birdie.

Catholic's 'B' team finished at 323 in the round to come in seventh place in the field.

The Cardinals next match will be on October, 11-12 at the Mason-Dixon Intercollegiate hosted by Gettysburg. The event will take place at the Waynesboro Country Club.
