TOWSON, Md. — Senior midfielder was named the Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career, it was announced. Zimmer contributed two assists and a goal over two games last week to become the first Catholic player to earn the honor this season.
Zimmer started his week off with a two assist performance on Wednesday against Washington College in a 2-2 draw. It was his first two assists of the season and the first multi-assist game of his career. He followed that game up by scoring the lone goal for the Cardinals in a 1-1 draw against Stockton on Saturday.
Zimmer now has two goals and two assists on the year, both of which are tied for the team lead. His six points on the season are also tied for the most on the squad. He is currently tied for fifth in the Landmark in points with six. For his career, Zimmer now has seven assists and six goals and he has already tied his career-highs in a season in both statistics.
The Cardinals are back at Carlini Field on Wednesday, September 24 for a non-conference matchup against North Carolina Wesleyan. Kickoff is set for 5 pm.
