ANNAPOLIS, MD - The women's cross country team traveled to Annapolis, Md. to compete in the Cantello Invitational.
Women's 6k
Freshman
Olivia Sobkowicz finished 8th in the Women's 6k and first for the Cardinals with a time of 23:23.9. Her 8th place finish awarded the Cardinals 8 points. Despite her 8th place finish, she was the first Division III runner, behind 7 Division I athletes.
Laurel McMahon, junior, finished not far behind her teammate in 12th place with a personal best 6k time of 23:40.0.
Teammates
Alexa Grassi (26:13.0),
Erin Roche (26:25.0), and
Bridgid Cavanaugh (26:35.7) finished in succession taking 45th, 46th, and 47th place, respectively.
Freshman
Lily Mitchell ran 28:36.8 and freshman
Isabel Doran ran 29:45.3.
Women's Open 5k
Only two Catholic runners competed in the Women's Open 5k.
Freshman
Sara Roberts ran a time of 24:18.5 and placed 4th for Division III runners, 24th overall.
Sophomore
Julia Becker finished 30th with a time of 27:39.2.
Up next, the Cardinals will travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to compete in the Paul Short Run on October 3rd.
