EMMITSBURG, Md. - Catholic women's cross country opened the 2025 fall campaign at the Mount St. Mary's 5K Duals. The Cardinals placed sixth out of eight teams, totaling 156 points.
Leading the pack for the women's team was newcomer
Olivia Sobkowicz. She placed 14th overall with a time of 19:23.89, ranking her ninth in program history in the 5K. With 12 of the top finishers being from Division I programs, Sobkowicz placed 2nd amongst Division III runners.
Junior
Laurel McMahon ran a 5k personal-best of 20:05.96. Her previous best time was 20:14.60 at the 2024 Mount St. Mary's Duals. With her personal-best time, she was able to finish 33rd overall and be the second finisher for the Cardinals.
A pair of freshman Cardinal runners finished 46th and 47th with less than a second between them.
Brigid Cavanaugh finished with a time of 20:58.52 and
Erin Roche finished with a time of 20:59.68.
Despite their sixth place finish, the Cardinals placed second behind Gettysburg amongst Division III teams.

Next up, Catholic will compete at the Cantello Invitational hosted by Navy on Sept. 13.
