Catholic Athletics Recent Graduate Graduate Spotlight: Jesse Hafemeister ('24)

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today's spotlight is the second of a new series highlighting recent graduates of Catholic Athletics and their career/athletic pursuits after leaving the university. Stay tuned throughout the school year as we continue to highlight various former student-athletes and their current exploits.

Today's feature is Jesse Hafemeister. One of the most decorated hoopers in Catholic basketball history, Hafemeister concluded his playing career ranked 14th on Catholic's all-time scoring list, notching 1,489 points. One of six NABC All-Americans in program history, Hafemeister earned regional honors in all four of his seasons. As a freshman, Hafemeister earned D3hoops Mid-Atlantic Regional Rookie of the Year honors before being named to the D3hoops All-Region Third Team as a sophomore. He earned both NABC and D3hoops All-Region honors in his junior and senior seasons while adding the All-America nod as a senior. The Mendham, N.J. native was a four-time All-Landmark First Team selection and was named Catholic's 2024 Men's Outstanding Senior Athlete Award winner.

What has life been like since graduating from Catholic? - Since graduating from Catholic, I have been able to collect many new life experiences. I've had the opportunity to live in different places and meet new people while continuing my education. *Jesse spent the 2024-25 school year at Mercyhurst*

What is the next step in your future? - The next step in my future is pursuing my Masters in Project Management while continuing my athletic career as a member of the basketball team at Charleston Southern.

What is one thing from your time as a student-athlete at Catholic that prepared you for that next step? - Catholic helped prepare me for this next step by giving me a strong work ethic. I have the ability to be a great student while simultaneously working very hard at basketball and being an integral part of the team. 

What do you miss most about Catholic/your team? - After graduating from the Catholic, I have missed my teammates and coaches the most. The relationships built in 4 years while facing many ups and downs created a strong bond between us all. I miss being able to play and spend time with them every day.
