GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Catholic baseball team has been honored by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), earning the Team Academic Excellence Award for the fifth consecutive season.
This year, nearly 750 member high school and college programs earned the award with Catholic being one of more 440 college teams to receive the Team Academic Excellence Award. Programs coached by ABCA members that posted a team GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the 2024-25 academic year received the honor. 173 Division III programs were awarded the accolade in 2024-25.
The program boasted a 3.54 GPA in the 2024-25 academic year to top last year's cumulative GPA of 3.35.
The Cardinals won their first Landmark Conference Championship since 2018 in 2025 and reached the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time under head coach
