Fearwell Sprints to All-America Honors, Top Five Finish at NCAA Championships

| By:
GENEVA, Ohio - Jevontae Fearwell put a cap on an outstanding Catholic career, sprinting to a fourth-place finish in the 100 on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Fearwell entered the championship event as the 10th seed in Division III and walked out of the Spire Academy as a First Team All-American as he placed fourth in the final on Saturday afternoon. Fearwell burst across the line in 10.46 seconds.

Fearwell becomes the first Catholic men's athlete to earn All-American honors on the track since Paul Drumgoole in 1995 and the first sprinter to nab the honor in program history. Prior to Fearwell's historic run, Mike McAleer's run in the 400 in 1989 was the shortest distance event for a Catholic athlete to earn All-America honors. Fearwell is the 11th athlete in men's program history to earn All-America honors in an individual event.
