Landmark Presidents' Trophy Stays in DC; Catholic Claims Fifth Victory

| By:
TOWSON, Md. - For the second straight season and the fifth time in history, Catholic University has claimed the Landmark Conference Presidents' Trophy. Catholic becomes the third program in conference history to claim a fifth Presidents' Trophy, joining Moravian and Susquehanna.

The trophy is awarded based on a formula that rewards institutions for regular-season conference standings as well as results in Landmark postseason competition. The additions of Wilkes and Lycoming to the league brought forth change to the formula prior to the 2023-24 season. Points are awarded in descending order for regular-season finishes with bonus points available for postseason play. Schools can earn five extra points for a championship, three for a runner-up finish, two for reaching the semifinals, and one for qualifying for the Landmark Tournament.

The Cardinals finished the 2024-25 athletic year with an average of 10.52 points, edging out Scranton with 9.84 points and Moravian with 8.65 points. The Cardinals finish just shy of their impressive 11.2-point average from last season, but become just the second program in conference history to win back-to-back trophies.

Each Catholic spring team earned at least seven points in the scoring system with championships in women's golf and baseball helping Catholic's efforts. Six programs in the spring earned at least 10 points led by women's golf (13.5). Baseball, women's outdoor track & field, softball, and women's lacrosse all earned 12 points, while men's tennis earned 10.5.

Catholic brought home five Landmark Conference Championships during the 2024-25 school year. The Cardinals also won the Presidents' Trophy in 2012-13, 2014-15, 2020-21, and 2023-24.
