ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Catholic women's tennis put a scare into top-seeded Moravian before ultimately succumbing to the Greyhounds, 4-2. The Landmark Conference Semifinal match was moved inside to Winning Touch Tennis - Lehigh Valley.
Catholic jumped ahead, taking the doubles point thanks to victories at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Paige Brightwell and
Meaghan Laniewski put Catholic in the driver's seat with a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles.
Mairead O'Hara and
Shloka Tambat put away Moravian's top doubles squad 6-3 to clinch the point for Catholic.
Moravian took wins at No. 2 singles, No. 3 singles, and No. 1 singles to take a 3-1 lead before
Ava Niggemeier put Catholic on the board in singles play with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 5 singles. Down 3-2,
Ava Kaloustian fought off four match points, but ultimately fell at No. 6 singles to clinch the match for Moravian. O'Hara led in the third set at No.4 singles after winning the second set 6-2 when play halted.
The Cardinals finish off a strong 2024-25 season with a record of 13-8.
