Lee, Bendo Named to IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region Teams

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Jessie Lee and Lauren Bendo represented Catholic women's lacrosse on the IWLCA All-Chesapeake Region teams it was announced earlier today. Lee was a first-team selection while Bendo garnered second-team honors. 

Lee, a senior midfielder from West Hempstead, N.Y., earned her second career All-Landmark honor as she was named to the first team earlier this month. The veteran leader started all 19 games, posting career highs across the board with 24 goals, 24 assists, and 48 points offensively. Defensively, the career-highs continued with 39 ground balls, 29 caused turnovers, and a career-high tying 63 draw controls. 

Lee moved up to sixth in Catholic women's lacrosse history with 202 career draw controls. In conference play, Lee scored 14 goals and handed out nine assists in Landmark Conference play before adding two goals and one assist in the Landmark Conference Semifinals. She had six games this season with at least five draw controls. 

Bendo, a senior defender from Garnet Valley, Pa. is a three-time All-Landmark Conference selection, including a two-time first-team choice. Bendo started all 19 games, scoring her fourth career goal, picking up 38 ground balls, and causing 23 turnovers. For her career, she caused 73 turnovers, picked up 127 ground balls, and won 45 draw controls. She caused multiple turnovers in eight games this season. 

Catholic continues a lengthy stretch of all-region selections, earning at least one in every season dating back to 2013.
