SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE, Pa. - Catholic men's golf shot 318 (+30) on day two of the Landmark Conference, remaining in fifth place with a weekend total of 627 (+51).
Drew held off Scranton by one shot to capture the overall title with a score of 600 (+24).
Joe Earley was the top finisher for Catholic, finishing in a tie for 13th at 12-over par. He followed up a Saturday 77 with a 79 this morning. Earley was better on the front, shooting 38 (+2) with a birdie on the 492-yard par-five sixth.
Timothy Cleary finished in a tie for 16th, totaling a score of 157 (+13) with an 81 (+9) on Sunday. Cleary shot 37 (+1) on the front with birdies on the 387-yard par-four fifth and sixth holes, but a back-nine 44 (+8) pushed him down the board.
Cleary was the top freshman finisher, earning Landmark Conference Rookie of the Year honors. He is the first Cardinal male to garner the recognition.
Timothy Doheny and
Darren Horton finished in a tie for 23rd with Doheny shooting 76-83 and Horton recording rounds of 80 and 79. Horton had a birdie on the 521-yard par-five 15th today.
Jack Davenport shot 79 on Sunday, finishing in a tie for 27th with a two-day total of 162.
