Cardinals Sit FIfth After Day One of Landmark Championships

SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE, Pa. - After the first 18 holes of the Landmark Conference Championship at Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort, Catholic sits in fifth after an opening-round score of 309 (+21). 

Drew holds the first round lead after a round of 289 (+1) with Scranton (+8), Goucher (+11), and Moravian (+13) ahead of Catholic. 

Timothy Cleary and Timothy Doheny had the rounds of the day for Catholic, currently sitting in a tie for 14th after an opening-round 76 (+4). Joe Earley is in a tie for 17th after a Saturday 77 (+5). 

Cleary shot 37/39, recording an eagle on the 492-yard par-five sixth hole to help him shoot 37 on the front-nine. He added a birdie on the 357-yard par-four 17th as well. 

Doheny was steady, shooting 38/38, recording a birdie, a bogey, a double bogey, and six pars on each nine. Doheny birdied the sixth hole and the 521-yard par-five 15th as well. 

Earley recorded three birdies on the day, most for Catholic, in his round of 77. He shot even-par 36 on the back-nine after a 41 on the front. Earley birdied the sixth and 15th holes as well as the 429-yard par-four 10th. 

Darren Horton recorded two birdies in a round of 80 and sits in a tie for 28th while Jack Davenport shot 83 (+11) and is tied for 37th. 

Catholic is off at 8:42 tomorrow morning on the second and final day of the event.
