CHERRY HILL, N.J. – Catholic men's rowing had two boats compete in the finals at the Knecht Cup on Sunday. The Cardinals also celebrated senior day as
David Fritz, Paul O'Connor, Jack Wright and
Timothy Kling were honored for their dedication to the program throughout their rowing careers.
The varsity four started the day with a fourth-place finish. They recorded a time of 7:30.33 to beat out Mercyhurst by just over three seconds. Lafayette was victorious with a time of 6:54.11, followed by Lehigh in second with a 7:02.62, and George Mason in third with a 7:21.48.
The varsity eight also finished fourth in the DII/DIII final. They clocked a 6:27.62 to place ahead of Trinity (6:28.62) and MSOE (6:30.81). Skidmore placed first with a 6:14.33, Trinity placed second with a 6:14.82, and Ithaca took third with a 6:25.22.
Catholic will take a few weeks off to prepare of the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Championships on May 4.
