Cardinals Round Out Successful Weekend with Win Over Lebanon Valley

Box Score WASHINGTON, D.C. – Catholic women's tennis won another close match on Sunday afternoon, taking down Lebanon Valley 4-3. The Cardinals defeated their opponents in the first two doubles matches of the day and landed key singles matches to improve to 9-3 on the season.

Shloka Tambat was the only Cardinal to win both of her matches. She started the day with a positive showing alongside Ella Knox at No. 1 doubles. The pair secured the first three points of the match before their opponents cut their deficit to one at 4-3. Tambat and Knox rallied to finish with the last two points.

Tamba continued with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles. She fought off a second set push from her opponent to help Catholic pick up a much needed point.

Meaghan Laniewski and Alyson Morris helped secure the doubles point with a 6-4 victory at No. 3. The duo was in a back-and-forth battle before breaking away for the win.

Mairead O'Hara and Ava Niggemeier also won their singles matches to clinch the match. O'Hara put on a clinical performance at No. 4, only allowing two games with set scores of 6-1, 6-1. Niggemeier only allowed three games in her No. 5 match, winning 6-2, 6-1.
