Men's Golf Kicks Off Spring Season at Dickinson Spring Invitational

CARLISLE, Pa. - The 2025 spring golf season got underway for Catholic at the Dickinson Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. The Cardinals top group played to a score of 613, shooting 307, 306 at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course to finish fourth behind Dickinson, Franklin & Marshall, and Swarthmore. 

Timothy Cleary was the top performer for the Cardinals, placing in a tie for 21st with a score-to-par of +7. Cleary followed an opening-round 77 with a 74 (+2) this afternoon. Cleary carded birdies on 14 and 18, both par-fours, while recording 12 pars on the day. He added two birdies on Saturday as well. 

Joe Earley and Jack Davenport finished one shot apart, placing 28th and 30th respectively. Earley was four shots better today, posting a score of 75 (+3) with two birdies. Earley finished with five birdies on the weekend, shooting 10-over for the tournament. Davenport fired in four birdies today, but a pair of double-bogeys saw him shoot 78 (+6), a shot worse than Saturday's 77. 

Veteran Darren Horton placed 38th, dropping down the leaderboard after a strong Saturday that saw him post a score of 75 (+3). Horton shot 81 on Sunday with one birdie and a pair of doubles. Timothy Doheny rounded out the Catholic (A) team in 40th place with a score of 13-over par. Doheny had a group-high six birdies on the weekend, shooting 78, 79. 

Matthew Dietl led the Catholic (B) squad, finishing in 46th-place, shooting 15-over with rounds of 79 and 80. Dietl recorded three birdies. Mario Ventresca also edged into the top 50, improving seven shots on Sunday with a 77.
