Jackson Hicks has been named Landmark Conference Winter Senior Scholar Athlete for his outstanding achievement in the pool, in the classroom and among the campus community.
The Landmark Conference selects one student-athlete from each sport per year for their athletic and academic prowess. Nominees are voted upon by a committee composed of Landmark Conference athletic directors, senior women's administrators, faculty athletic representatives, and athletic communications personnel. In order to be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher.
Hicks has excelled in the classroom throughout his time at Catholic. While pursuing a degree in architecture, he has maintained an impressive 3.6 cumulative GPA. He was a 2023-24 CSC Academic All-District Selection and was also named a 2022 CSCAA Second Team Scholar All-American.Â
The breaststroke and individual medley specialist has had an illustrious career in the pool, breaking a program record and helping the Cardinals continue their championship legacy. Just last month, he was a key contributor to Catholic's ninth straight conference championship victory, marking a new school record for consecutive championships and tying the Landmark record. Hicks swam to a second-place finish in the 200 breast and the 200 medley relay at the meet and was an honorable mention selection for his performance in the 100 breast and the 200 IM.
