ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Catholic women's tennis team started off the 2025 spring season with a Landmark Conference victory over Elizabethtown on Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals recorded their third sweep of the season after topping the Blue Jays, 7-0.
Catholic took the doubles point in impressive fashion. Both pairings including
Shloka Tambat and
Mairead O'Hara at No. 1, and
Ella Knox and
Ava Niggemeier at No. 2 worked incredibly well together to not lose a single game.
Tambat continued her perfect day at No. 1 singles where she also won every game. The freshman remains undefeated in singles play, posting an impressive 6-0 record halfway through her rookie campagin.
Knox found herself in a competitive match at the No. 2 spot. She was down 3-4 in both sets but was able to come back to win 6-4, 7-5.
Meaghan Laniewski and
Ava Kaloustian continued the Catholic success to round out the day. Kaloustian earned her first conference victory with a 6-2, 6-0 win while Laniewski recorded similar set scores of 6-1, 6-2.
Next, Catholic will take a spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina for three matches starting on March 10.
