FAIRFAX, Va. – Freshman
Romell Randolph claimed the highest finish for Catholic men's indoor track & field as the team competed at the Father Diamond meet on Friday. The Cardinals have completed their regular season slate and will turn their attention to the Landmark Conference Championships.
Randolph placed second in the 200m with a personal-best time of 22.72, topping his previous two outings in the event this year. The freshman also had a positive showing in the 60m. After a qualifying prelims performance, he ran .03 seconds faster in the finals to claim fifth with another PR of 7.15 seconds.
Gabe Stypul joined Randolph with a top-three finish. He ran a personal best of 51.96 in the 400m, besting his previous best of 52.71 set in the event two weeks ago.
Colin Matthews followed Stypul with a fifth-place finish in his first collegiate 400m race, recording a time of 53.23.
Multiple Cardinals also broke into the top five in their respective events.
Chilowe Osai won his heat in the 60m hurdles and returned to place fifth in the finals with a time of 8.70 seconds.
Shane Waring took fourth in the 800m with a personal best time of 2:09.62; his last best set two weeks ago was a 2:18.23.
Mark Enamorado and
Alexander Saunders both took fifth in their events. Enamorado recorded a 12.64m mark in the weight throw while Saunders notched an 11.46m mark in the shot put.
Richie Mattocks continued Catholic's success with a personal best in the mile by over 10 seconds. He finished 11th in a competitive event with a time of 4:44.04.

Adrian Villatoro led the pack in sixth with a 5.97m mark, followed by
Brandon Hancock in seventh with a 5.63m and
Nicholas Chang in eighth with a 5.55m.
Competing at the Navy Select meet,
Christian Di Nicolantonio won the pole vault with a 5.10m mark. This marks the fourth meet this season that Di Nicolantonio has been victorious.
The Landmark Championships will be held the the PG Sports & Learning Complex on Saturday, March 1. The first event is scheduled for 11 a.m.
