TOWSON, Md. - With just over a week until the spring season begins for Catholic men's tennis, the Cardinals have been picked to finish fourth in the Landmark Conference Preseason Poll.
The Cardinals completed a dominant fall that saw them post a 6-0 record as they opened up their conference slate with a victory. Catholic picked up victories over Stevenson, Penn State Harrisburg, Shepherd, St. Mary's (Md.), and Dickinson in non-conference play before beating Susquehanna, 4-3, to open Landmark play.
2024 all-conference choices
James Earwood and
Diego Romo had strong falls, with Earwood going 2-1 in singles and 3-0 in doubles while Romo, playing with both Earwood and
Lorenzo Neri, went 5-1 in doubles play. Neri had an impressive fall winning three-of-four singles matches.
Nate Farlow's squad is hopeful to improve on last year's 5-4 record in conference play. They earned the five seed in the Landmark Championships, defeating fourth-seeded Juniata beore falling to the top-seeded Goucher Gophers in the semifinals.
Catholic opens the season at Elizabethtown on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
