WASHINGTON, D.C. - Catholic University softball coach
Sophie Maccarone has announced a pair of softball camp dates for the upcoming winter. The Cardinals head coach will host a Prospect Camp January 10 and a Youth Camp on January 11 at the Catholic University Softball Field.
WINTER SOFTBALL PROSPECT CAMP
- WHO: Softball Players - Grades 8-12
- LOCATION: The Catholic University Softball Field at the Raymond A Dufour Athletic Center
- DATE AND TIME: Saturday, January 10, 2026 - 9am -12 pm
- COST: $225
- WHAT TO BRING: Glove, Bat, Helmet, Gym Shoes, Turf Shoes, Necessary Protective Gear (Including Gear for Catchers), Snacks OR Lunch, Lots of Water
Participants in Coach Maccarone's prospect camp will get the opportunity to be evaluated in the following areas during drills: arm strength, hitting, pitching, catching, throwing, and fielding ability. Campers will participate in situational games as well after the drills are complete. Coach Maccarone will be evaluating all campers along with her assistant coaches and current Catholic players.
- Please Note - In case of rain, camp will be moved indoors. Please bring sneakers in case of inclement weather. All players should clearly mark their personal equipment. Cleats are NOT permitted inside the Dufour Center or on the softball turf.

WINTER SOFTBALL YOUTH CAMP
- WHO: Softball Players Ages 6-12
- LOCATION: The Catholic University Softball Field at the Raymond A Dufour Athletic Center
- DATE AND TIME: Sunday, January 11, 2026 - 9 am - 11 am
- COST: $125
- WHAT TO BRING: Glove, Bat, Helmet, Gym Shoes, Cleats, Necessary Protective Gear (Including Gear for Catchers)
Participants in Coach Maccarone's skills camp will grow and learn in all areas necessary to develop their softball abilities. Participants will be coached by Coach Maccarone and her staff in the following areas: hitting, pitching, catching, throwing and fielding abilities. Campers will participant in drill sessions as well as activities and games focused on skills at the end of the session.

Camp Insurance is available for $20.00 per event. This provides credit to a future camp, should the event be canceled for any reason, or the participants is unable to attend due to last minute conflicts, providing they email the camp director within 24 hours prior to the event.
All proceeds from the camps will go to the growth of the Catholic University Softball program.
