Five Cardinals Earn Spots on USC All-Region Teams

| By:
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Five members of the Catholic men's soccer team have been named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA DIII All-Region V teams, the organization announced today. The Cardinals had at least one player selected across the four teams, marking the most selections in a single season in program history.

Senior forward Holden Woodings collected his second straight USC All-Region First Team selection after a dominant offensive campaign this season. Starting in all 21 matches, Woodings once again led the Catholic squad and the Landmark Conference with 10 goals, including four game-winners, and delivered an overtime winner in the NCAA Tournament First Round against the reigning champions of Amherst. The senior forward continued to be a category leader in his senior season, finishing at first on the team and in the conference with 21 points and 85 shots. Woodings was named Landmark Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season and earned a place on the All-Landmark First Team.

Corey Magro and Carson Shamoo both secured All-Region Second Team honors, the first regional recognition of their careers. Magro was a staple on the Catholic squad this season, starting in all 21 contests and leading the roster with 1,897 minutes played. He added two goals and four assists for a total of 10 points and was named to the All-Landmark Conference First Team.

Shamoo capped off a stellar freshman season with a Landmark Rookie of the Year honor to his name, joining a group of just three others, including teammate Owen Allegro who earned the honor in 2023. Shamoo started in every match in his debut season, contributing four goals and picking up five assists across 1,605 minutes of action. Shamoo was just behind teammate Ben Zimmer with the second-most assists in the conference at five and notched his first collegiate game-winner to lead the team to a 1-0 victory over Juniata. Shamoo also joined Magro and Woodings on the All-Landmark First Team.

Senior Ben Zimmer represented the Cardinals on the All-Region Third Team, earning his first career regional honor. Zimmer was a consistent presence in the midfield, starting in all 21 games and tallying two goals for Catholic, including one game winner. He led the team and the Landmark Conference with six assists in his 2025 campaign. Zimmer's performance earned him a spot alongside his teammates on the All-Landmark First Team.

Charlie Paparella rounded out Catholic's All-Region honorees with a Fourth Team selection, the first All-Region honor of his career. Paparella started in all 21 matches, seeing 1,822 minutes of game action. The junior midfielder played a crucial role on the Catholic squad, playing the full 90 minutes in 18 matches and contributing 12 shutout victories for the Cardinals. Paparella was also named to the All-Landmark Conference First Team this season.

With this year's selections, the Catholic men's soccer program now has 31 USC All-Region selections in team history.
