Four Cardinals Earn Landmark All-Conference Honors

TOWSON, Md. - Catholic women's cross country had four Cardinals receive conference honors, it was announced today. Olivia Sobkowicz, Laurel McMahon, Alexa Grassi, and Bridgid Cavanaugh each received All-Conference honors, Sobkowicz securing the 2025 Rookie of the Year title after taking second at the Landmark Conference Championships. 

Sobkowicz and McMahon each earned a spot on the First Team All-Conference after successful performances in the Women's 6k at the conference championships. Sobkowicz picked up second place in the race, finishing with a time of 22:00.47. She was named Rookie of the Year, the fourth member of the women's squad to receive these honors, and the first to earn this title since Catholic joined the Landmark in 2007. She was one of two freshmen to finish in the top 10.

McMahon secured her spot after finishing fifth in the championship race, cruising to the finish line with a time of 22:30.46. This marks McMahon's second career conference honor after receiving a Landmark All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2024 after an 18th place finish.

Grassi joins the Second Team All-Conference, earning her first career honors. The junior finished eighth in the Women's 6k with a time of 23:08.28.

Cavanaugh received an All-Conference Honorable Mention at the Conference Championships on Saturday, November 1. The freshman finished in 17th with a time of 23:52.47, securing the first honors of her career.

The Cardinals will continue their season on Saturday, November 15, with a trip to Salem, Va. There, they will participate in the NCAA South Region Championships.
