ASHLAND, Va. - The Catholic women's swimming and diving team closed out day two of the Yellow Jacket Invitational with 386.5 points to finish the day in fourth.
In the 200 Medley Relay, a team of
Tara Wiarda,
Delainey Brandt,
Anna Dymek, and
Emily Blaskovich took the bronze, racing to third with a time of 1:46.91.
Wiarda highlighted the day with a record-breaking performance in the 100 Backstroke. The junior from Green Pond, N.J. took took first in the event with a time of 56.94, breaking the program and Landmark Conference record for this event. The record was previously held by Catholic's Caroline Beal who clocked a time of 57.58 at the 2020 conference championships.
Dymek also brought in some points for the Cardinals, finishing top-five in the 100 Butterfly. Dymek logged a time of 57.20 to finish fourth in the event.
The Cardinals will return for a final day of action at the Invitational on Sunday, November 23.
