ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Catholic women's swimming and diving team traveled to Elizabethtown on Saturday for their fourth meet of the season. The Cardinals soared over the Blue Jays, defeating them 188-67.
Catholic opened the meet strong, taking first place in the first two individual events.
Annie Zeigler claimed first in the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 5:15.18, while
Molly Foltz followed with a dominant performance in the 1000 Freestyle, finishing 20 seconds ahead of her second-place competitor with at ime of 11:26.33.
The Cardinals continued to roll in the 200 Individual Medley, where
Delainey Brandt and
Grace Kelly took first and second. Brandt finished first, cruising to the finish with a time of 2:19.46 while Kelly followed just a few seconds behind with a time of 2:26.16.
Brandt added another victory later, teaming up with
Tara Wiarda,
Anna Dymek, and
Claire Brockmann in the 200 Medley Relay. The crew beat out their competitors by nearly five seconds, finishing with a time of 1:54.98.
The Cardinals saw more success in relay events as the meet went on, with a crew made up of
Keriann Collison,
Grace Robinson, Wiarda, and
Maura Sadowski taking first in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:47.33.
Catholic ultimately took down Elizabethtown in the meet, extending their record to 3-1. Next, they will travel to Ashland, Va. where they will participate in the Yellow Jacket Invite hosted by Randolph-Macon in the Estes Aquatic Center. The event runs from Friday, Nov. 21 to Sunday, Nov. 23.
