SALEM, Va. - The Catholic men's cross country team traveled to the DIII South Region Championships on Saturday, Nov. 15. The Cardinals finished ninth overall at the meet out of 29 teams, marking the fourth time they've had a top-10 finish in five years.
Joe Wolfe was named an All-Region finisher after he placed 31st in the Men's 8k. He was the first of the Cardinals squad to cross the finish line, recording a time of 25:53.20.
Michael Brunet finished second for the Cardinals, completing the race just seconds behind Wolfe. The Landmark Rookie of the Year finished 38th overall with a time of 26:05.20
Joe Locke made great strides towards the Cardinals ninth place finish, finishing in 50th place with a time of 26:32.60.
This meet closes out Catholic's 2025 season. Wolfe and Brunet had standout performances this fall, leading the pack and earning Second Team All-Landmark honors. Brunet was named Landmark Rookie of the Year, becoming the second player in program history to receive these honors. The Cardinals had an impressive second place finish at the Landmark Conference Tournament, their highest finish since 2022.
