HANOVER, Pa. – The Catholic women's golf team competed at the Gettysburg Fall Invitational over the weekend in its second to last match of the fall season. The Cardinals shot a 337 as a team to beat Kutztown by three strokes to take first place out of the eight teams in the field.
Brooke Smith put together the best round for the Cardinals, shooting an 80 to finish in a tie for third place in the field. She finished tied with Abby McMonagle of Gettysburg after finishing her round eight strokes over par.
Finishing just outside the top 10 was
Mary McGuire, who was Catholic's next best finisher as she shot an 86 to finish in a tie for 11th place with Eva Moawad from Kutztown.
Lauren Wright also finished in the top 20 for the Cardinals, breaking 90 by one stroke with an 89.
Harper Capilli was the Cardinals final competitor and shot a 96.
On the Catholic 'B' team,
Meghan Mullen had the best round, shooting a 93 to finish in the top 25 at 23rd.
Isabelle Seratch also finished in the top 25 as she shot a 95 in her round to come in 24th.
The result was the Cardinals third consecutive first place finish and the fourth that they have had in the fall season.
The Cardinals final fall meet is on Saturday and Sunday, October 25-26 for the Landmark Conference Preview. The match will be hosted at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort.
