For the second time in program history, a Catholic baseball player has earned All-America honors from both D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings. After picking up the D3baseball nod on Wednesday, Tozzi adds the ABCA nod to his list of accolades as of Thursday evening. Tozzi was named to the second team by both organizations.

Roman Tozzi became the fifth Cardinal to be named to a D3baseball.com All-America team it was announced on Wednesday. Tozzi earned second team honors, making him the first player in program history named to the second team! As for the ABCA, Tozzi is just the third Cardinal to be recognized as an All-American by the organization, joining
Tucker Alch and
Peter Giombetti.
Tozzi adds All-America honors to a list of 2024 accolades that now includes: Region Pitcher of the Year, first team all-region, Landmark Pitcher of the Year, first team all-conference, and Landmark Pitcher of the Week.
The 2024 Region V Pitcher of the Year, Tozzi had a tremendous first season for Catholic after transferring in from Division II Barton. The lefty out of Glen Mills, Pa. went 8-2 with a 2.45 ERA in 69.2 innings for the Cardinals this season. After starting the year in the bullpen and stretching out, Tozzi became the staff ace, striking out 76 batters and tossing a pair of complete game shutouts. Tozzi appeared in 13 games, making 10 starts while holding opposing hitters to a .167 batting average. Tozzi ranks sixth nationally in hits allowed per nine (5.30) and 20th nationally in WHIP (0.98). He made six starts this season of at least 6.0 innings and struck out five or more batters eight separate times. Tozzi had three double-digit strikeout games, all three coming in Landmark Conference play.
The Pennsylvania native posted the third-most wins, the eighth-most strikeouts, and the 10th-best ERA in the Division III era of Catholic baseball.
