TOWSON, Md. - For the fourth time ever and the first time since 2020-21, Catholic Athletics has brought home the Landmark Conference Presidents' Trophy! Catholic finishes the spring with an average of 11.2 points, besting Scranton, who finishes second with an average of 9.25 points.
Catholic closed out a tremendous 2023-24 season with two more Landmark Conference Championships, taking the crown in women's golf and women's outdoor track & field. The Cardinals totaled six conference championships this year, winning two during each season of play. Catholic took home the crown in women's cross country and men's soccer in the fall before taking the crown in men's swimming and men's basketball in the winter.
The trophy is awarded based on a formula that rewards institutions for regular-season conference standings as well as results in Landmark postseason competition. The additions of Wilkes and Lycoming to the league brought forth change to the formula prior to this season. Points are awarded in descending order for regular-season finishes with bonus points available for postseason play. Schools can earn five extra points for a championship, three for a runner-up finish, two for reaching the semifinals, and one for qualifying for the Landmark Tournament.
Catholic previously brought home the illustrious honor in 2012-13, 2014-15, and 2020-21. The Cardinals are just one trophy shy of Moravian and Susquehanna to tie for the most in conference history.
